Odd Future to join Eminem tour?

New Zealand’s vibe just got killed.

Due to “an unavoidable scheduling conflict”, Kendrick Lamar has dropped out of the New Zealand leg of Eminem’s upcoming Rapture tour. However, there is some good news for hip-hop fans in Auckland: K.Dot has already been replaced on the bill by Odd Future. “New Zealand! Sorry I’m missing you this time, but the homies, Odd Future will kill it for you and I’m excited for Australia this month, ” Lamar explains in a press release issued by promoter Paul Dainty.

The Odd Future lineup headed to New Zealand – and then hopefully onto Australia – features lynchpin Tyler, The Creator plus gang members Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, Left Brain, Mike G and Taco Bennett. Although crew members Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis and DJ Taco recently played in New Zealand as part of the Laneway festival, the crew were controversially dropped from the 2012 Auckland Big Day Out lineup due to pressure from LBGT activist Calum Bennachie.

Kendrick Lamar – who missed out on the Big Day Out tour due to his Grammy commitments – will still perform at all three dates on the Australian leg of the tour, which begins in Melbourne just days after the Auckland show. Eminem’s Australian tour dates also feature support from J. Cole, 360 and Action Bronson.

Eminem’s “Rapture tour”

Wednesday, February 19 – Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
Thursday, February 20 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
Saturday, February 22 – ANZ Stadium, Sydney

Eminem; Some Interesting Things You Did Not Know About Eminem.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III popular known by his stage name as Eminem, was born on the 17th of October 1972 in Missouri, to parents Marshall Bruce Mathers, Jr. and Deborah Nelson. Eminem has a little bit of blood from Germany, England, Scotland, Poland and Switzerland. His mother was only 14 years old when she met his father, who was 18 years. They both were in a band when they met and lived together before they parted ways. Eminem has two half-brothers and one, half-sister. In his childhood years, he and his mother moved a lot, and finally settled in Warren, Michigan when he was 11.

The journey to success and fame has been hard for Eminem to say the least. Eminem has fought long and hard to be where he is right now. He began rapping at the tender age of 14 years, and decades later he is considered the king of hip-hop and one the greatest artists of all time. On top of his solo career, the rapper is a member of hip-hop dual Bad Meets Evil, and D12. He is among the best-selling artists of all time, and the best-selling artist of the 21st century. He ranks number 82 of the top 100 greatest artists of all time. He has attained 10 number one albums on the Billboard 200, including his work with Bad Meets Evil and D12. He has sold more than 220 million records globally.

Facts you did not know

  • When he was 9 years old, a bully beat him up so badly in his school that he spent more than a week in coma. His music has since helped people to get out of similar situations, including a 12-year-old girl who was hit by a vehicle in Northumberland.

  • His childhood dream was to become a comic writer and not a rapper. He spent most of his early year reading numerous comic books. He has since tried to incorporate comics into his music as is evident in some of his music videos.

  • Despite many brushes with the law and the tear away image, Eminem did not get arrested until he was 21 years old. The basis of his arrest was shooting at a police vehicle with a paintball gun. He was later released.

  • Eminem’s iconic stage name is taken from his initials, and not from the sugar-covered chocolate treats. However, one of the best Eminem-inspired works is an M&Ms portrait of a star by Enrique Ramos, a famous artist from Florida. The artist used over a thousand M&Ms.

  • Despite pillaring Eminem publicly for portraying him as a plastic surgery junky and sex offender, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson co-owns rights to Eminem’s back catalogue, which was included as part of the deal Sony/ATV Music Publishing signed when acquiring LLC back in 2007.

  • Moby does not hold any grudge against Eminem despite the rapper humiliating him in his music video. In fact, the bald producer thinks Eminem is a brilliant and talented artist.

'Rap God' Eminem, Justin Timberlake Beat Out For Top Global Recording Artist Title: Who Won?

Eminem's resurgence into music relevancy cumulated with a second-place finish on the list of the top global recording acts in 2013 by the IPFI, according to Digital Spy.

The rapper's eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, earned platinum status with major hits, including the chart-topper "The Monster" featuring Rihanna and "Rap God." However, despite the critical and commercial acclaim, the Detroit native, along with fellow U.S. artists Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Pink, was beat out by UK boy band One Direction for the top spot.

One Direction snagged the title thanks to the success of their Midnight Memories album, along with millions of Youtube views and large streaming numbers on top services such as Spotify and Deezer. The IPFI creates the top ten global recording acts chart through a combination of physical sales, digital sales and streaming revenue.

Here's the official 2013 IPFI Top Ten Global Recording Artists Chart:

1. One Direction
2. Eminem
3. Justin Timberlake
4. Bruno Mars
5. Katy Perry
6. Pink
7. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
8. Rihanna
9. Michael Bublé
10. Daft Punk

On the heels of his big 2013, Eminem also appears to be working with old pals D12 on new material, Em's producer Mark Bass recently told The Detroit Free Press.

D12, which hasn't released an album since 2004's D12 World, are without key member Proof, a close friend of Eminem's that passed away in 2006. Bizzare and Mr. Porter also left the group, but it is possible the two could return for a reunion with remaining members Kuniva, Swifty McVay, Fuzz Scoota and Eminem.

While details on the comeback are sparse, Bass did reveal in his interview that Eminem was featured on three of the tracks the group already recorded.

D12 hit double-platinum status with their LP Devil's Night, which helped jump-start Eminem's career. Their sophomore album, D12 World, was also a hit, making its way to the top of the albums chart.

Eminem is also reportedly linked to a New record with Busta Rhymes and a Battle rap reality show.

What Rapper Eminem is Afraid of... It’s Every Parents Nightmare!

Rapper Eminem’s 17-year-old daughter brought her boyfriend home to meet dad. Apparently dad, Marshall Mathers, AKA Eminem, had quite the wake-up call.

The boyfriend was raised on heavy doses of Eminem’s music along with Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Ludacris, famous for their lyrics about violence and devaluing of women. Their lyrics, if printed, would make you nauseous. And if they don’t and you worship the ground these artists walk on, something is seriously wrong. If fact, the boyfriend’s favorite Eminem song is “Superman,” a song about putting anthrax on a woman’s hygiene product and then slapping her until she can’t stand. He also likes the song, “Kill You,” a brutal story of killing a woman and hiding her in a closet.

When Eminem found out the boyfriend was raised on his music, he had serious doubts about his character and wondered how the music influenced his world view. In an interview with The Onion, he commented, “And his parents let him listen to it?” What kind of house was that? I don’t even want to think about what kind of people they are.” Yes, lyrics about having sex with prostitutes and then painting the room red with blood are quite disturbing, but you wrote them!

What happens when a boy grows up listening to lyrics about beating women and treating them like dirt?

Well, Eminem, they go out in the world and date somebody’s daughter. Only this time, he dated yours.

You should be worried. Your wish for your daughter to date someone who never heard your lyrics is a good wish. If my daughter dated someone who grew up on your music, loved it and worshipped you as his hero, I would be distraught too.

The problem is your albums sold over 80 million copies world wide, making you one of the bestselling artists in the world. Maybe you should have thought of how your music would influence people BEFORE you made millions off of it. I am glad you are thinking about it now. Now, the consequences may be real. Now, your world view has taken root in the hearts of many. Now, those boys to men will have your lyrics in their heads.

Think of how many boyfriends have been influenced.

I’m sorry that your daughter has to date someone who loves your music, but I am also sorry about all the other daughters who will be victims of violence and misogyny.

Eminem, your chickens have come home to roost. And I agree, this is nothing to crow about!

Eminem News 2014: Chrysler 200 Lives Up to Detroit Rapper's Famous Super Bowl XLV Commercial

Chrysler introduces a completely redesigned 200 at the Detroit part of North American International Auto Show, proving that it is now worth Eminem's Super Bowl commercial back in 2011.

Three years ago, Chrysler aired its acclaimed Super Bowl commercial featuring the Detroit-native rapper behind the wheel along with the tagline "Imported from Detroit," which certainly put a spotlight on the city of Detroit.

"What does this city know about luxury?" the announcer asked in the midst of Eminem's 2011 hit "Lose Yourself" and gritty images of Detroit. "What does a town that's been to hell and back know about the finer things in life?"

The moving ad earned four Gold Lions for Best Directions, Best Use of Music, Best Scripts and Best Automotive Commercial and a Bronze Lion for Best Editing at the Cannes Lions 58th International Festival of Creativity.

According to Chrysler, Eminem's track was chosen for the two-minute commercial because of its international recognition and for the attitudes expressed in the song. The song's theme portrays the attitude of accomplishing "anything we set our mind to and that failure is not an option."

However, the most important thing of all was missing: the best car. Despite the impressive ad, which also intended to show the nation that the company was still alive 18 months after filing for bankruptcy, the 200 ended up being nothing more than just a placeholder.

The North American International Auto Show starts on Monday, Jan. 13, and will feature debuts for some of the auto world's most important models. For the first time in years, Chrysler is fielding a strong contender in mid-sized sedans, and the 200 is likely to be one of the most talked-about debuts for its sophisticated beauty and surprising sumptuous interior.

Chrysler 200 is built on a chassis derived from Alfa Romeo, the premium brand owned by Chrysler parent, Fiat SpA. It features a nice-speed automatic transmission, helping achieve an expected 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The transmission is mated to Chrysler's 2.4-liter four-cylinder or 3.6-liter V6. It also uses an electric rotary dial.

An innovative all-wheel-drive system automatically disconnects the rear axle when not needed for improved fuel economy. The 200 includes more than 60 safety and security features.

Scoop DeVille Details Song Featuring Eminem & Busta Rhymes

Recently, Busta Rhymes announced that he has a new song with Eminem, and it caught the attention of the public.

The song's producer, Scoop DeVille recently sat down with Vlad TV and provided more details about the song and described it.

"That's the next record that's going to, I'd say destroy the streets of New York and Hip Hop in a lot of ways," Scoop DeVille said when asked about the record. "That record is something that we've been putting together for a minute. It's not just like an overnight thing. We've been trying to make this THE record to bring back Busta in a major way."

Scoop also dropped a new revelation: the latest song with the Hip Hop superstars supposedly contains two verses of a minimum of 60 bars each.

"Not only are you going to get the song, you're going to get a video, you're going to get the old Buss, old Em and it's like six minutes of just rhyming–64 bars Em, 60 bars Em of just destroying it, it's insane," Scoop described. "It's 64 bars, chorus, 60 bars chorus, done."

In September, Busta spoke about the track.

“I’ve got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record.” Busta Rhymes said at the time in an interview with XXL. “So it’s lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project.”

Busta previously had a record with Eminem with "Hurt You" that didn't make it onto his 2006 album,The Big Bang but still excited fans.

E.L.E. 2 is slated to feature Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Q-Tip, and more, and will likely drop in November. The album is a follow-up to 1998's Extinction Level Event - The Final World Front.

'Rap God' Eminem Earns 2013 Best-Selling Album Honors in Canada for 'Marshall Mathers LP 2'

Eminem eclipsed Celine Dion for Canada's best-selling album of the year, moving 242,000 copies in the country, according to Nielsen SoundScan Canada and Billboard.

The 41-year-old rapper's Marshall Mathers LP 2 narrowly edged out Dion's Loved Me Back to Life, which sold 231,000 copies. The rest of the top ten comprised of Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons, Pink, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, the Lumineers, Michael Buble and One Direction.

Overall album sales dropped six percent in Canada from 2012 to 2013, according to the report.

It was recently reported by TMZ that the "Rap God," was offered a substantial contract from NFL owners to perform at a private Super Bowl party, but according to the gossip site's sources, Em was looking for a massive paycheck for his services. Fellow hip-hop titan Kanye West also turned down a lucrative offer to perform at the event, TMZ reports.

"The Monster" rapper reportedly demanded $2 million, while West asked for $1 million for the event.

With the overwhelming appeal he's proved he can still fetch with MMLP2, maybe the request wasn't as crazy as it sounds.

The album achieved certified platinum status just two weeks after its release, according toBillboard.

Eminem secured 792k sales in its debut week, which made the climb to 1 million records sold relatively easy the following week. The MMLP2 track "Berzerk" snagged platinum honors back in October and the Rihanna-assisted track "The Monster" followed it up a few weeks later. The duo previously hit 11-times platinum status with their track "Love the Way You Lie."

The Detroit native has been a force on the singles charts, with four tracks featured simultaneously in the top 20 and ten featured on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart shortly after the album's release. Slim Shady's new hits make him the first artist since the Beatles in 1964 to have placed four songs concurrently on the Billboard Top 20 chart, a feat that also helped him pass the legendary rockers for the title of best selling artist of the past decade.

His top single, "The Monster" featuring Rihanna lead the album's top 20 singles, followed by "Rap God," Berzerk," "Survival," "Beautiful Pain," "Love Game," "Headlights," "Bad Guy," "Rhyme or Reason," and "Legacy."

Marshall Mathers LP 2 gives Em seven number one albums, with his only miss being Curtain Call: The Hits, which peaked at number two.

According to Billboard, Eminem is the fifth artist to have ten singles on the chart simultaneously since it adopted its "current sales/airplay/streaming methodology" 13 months ago. The other four are also rappers: Drake (who has done it four times), Jay Z, Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz.
