Eminem MMLP2 New Album 2013: Asher Roth Responds To The Rapper's Diss On Asshole Track ( Video )

Asher Roth released his Slim Shady-inspired track "As I Em" off his debut studio album, "Asleep in the Bread Aisle," back in 2009. Eminem has responded to Roth's record by briefly calling him out on "Asshole," a selection from his latest, now-platinum "The Marshall Mathers LP 2." However, the Morrisville, Pennsylvania rapper does not get offended by the Detroit rapper's diss, and explains why he recorded "As I Em."

On the collaboration with Skylar Grey, Eminem spits fire at Asher Roth's track. "Quit actin' salty, I was countin' on you to count me out / Ask Asher Roth when he round-a-bout dissed me to shout me out / Thought I was history / But goddamn honkey, that compliment's like backhanding a donkey," Eminem raps in the second verse of the "Asshole."

During his appearance on Hot 97 interview, Asher Roth expresses that he finds the self-claimed "Rap God"'s diss rather "amazing," instead of being offended.

"It's cool, man," says Roth. "I thought it was pretty amazing... There's nothing really there. It's like I've never really met him. I don't know him personally. You know what I mean?"

The "I Love College" rapper then explains why he released "As I Am," in which he shares his first memories of listening to Eminem and applauds him by rapping, "But Em was in it way before I committed / And his lyrics were the shit so I really gotta come with it."

Asher Roth admits that the record was recorded to prove that he is his own person, following the numerous comparisons he received to the "Monster" rapper.

"Man, it was just like when things were coming out everybody was like [all] 'Em, Asher, Em, Asher, Em, Asher.' And so, for me I just wanted to like talk about how I was my own person," Roth said. "You know what I mean? And that's really all it was. And talking about when I first been introduced to Em's music when I was young in seventh grade. And just kind of like talking about that relationship with being inspired by an emcee and listening to that music and having it be influential... I think Em's just being Em."

Eminem's 'Rap God' video is part 'Portal,' part Max Headroom

Eminem's latest single is as angry as you'd expect from the rapper, but the music video is decidedly sci-fi. The six-minute-clip, created for the single "Rap God," features a range of visual influences — Eminem raps while channeling Max Headroom, for instance, and even hops through portals as if he was playing a real-life version of Valve's video game series. And the lyrics are just as nerdy, with lines like "I just bought a new ray gun from the future just to shoot you.

Eminem, The Beatles and More Donate Songs for the Philippines Relief Album

Dozens of big names in music industry have joined forces to raise funds for typhoon disaster relief in the Philippines. They have all made contributions to a compilation album called "Songs for Philippines".

The 39-song set includes classics such as "Across the Universe" and "Let It Be" by The Beatles as well as "Like a Prayer" by Madonna. The record also features Eminem's "Stan", Beyonce Knowles' "I Was Here", Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors", Katy Perry's "Unconditionally" and Lady GaGa's "Born This Way".

Released on iTunes on Monday, November 25, the album is available for $9.99. It is also available for streaming on iTunes Radio. The artists, record companies and music publishers have agreed to donate all proceeds to the Philippine Red Cross.

Typhoon Haiyan, which hit the Philippines earlier this month, has killed, injured and displaced thousands of people in the Southeast Asian country. Officials have struggled to keep up with humanitarian aid demands.

Eminem and Rihanna’s The Monster is Number One on the Official Streaming Chart for the second week in a row

The Monster by Eminem FT Rihanna is this week’s most listened to song in the UK.

The track features on the US rapper’s album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which topped the Official Albums Chartearlier in November, making Eminem the first American act to score seven consecutive UK Number 1 albums.

Monster made its Official Streaming Chart debut four weeks ago, entering at Number 82, climbing 80 places before knocking Lorde’s Royals off the Number 1 spot.

Lorde remains at Number 2 wih Royals, Onerepublic is at Number 3 with Counting Stars and Miley Cyrus is at Number 4 with Wrecking Ball. Lily Allen’s cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’, featured in John Lewis’s Christmas ad, has shot up 65 places from Number 70 to Number 5.

Eminem And Busta Rhymes' Six-Minute Battle Rap Is 'Pretty Crazy'

Eminem is no stranger to rap battles. But if you think top-selling records has made Em soft, think again. Slim Shady is prepping for a lyrical throwdown with none other than Busta Rhymes, and producer Scoop DeVille spoke to MTV News about it.

"[I'm] working with Busta Rhymes, I have a single coming out with him called 'Calm Down' with Eminem and that's a six-minute record where they're battling each other for like 30 to 50 bars apiece. It's pretty crazy," Scoop told us while he walked the red carpet for the 2013 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Busta first opened up about the track, which will appear on his upcomingExtinction Level Event 2 LP, in a September interview.

"I've got a six-minute record with Eminem that sounds like we are respectfully trying to battle each other in a way that you probably never heard us battle in our entire careers on a record," he told XXLMag.com. "So it's lot of real incredibly golden moments for us on this project."

The track is sure to be a highlight for all involved, including DeVille, who has built his career by logging in standout records with Snoop Dogg ("I Wanna Rock"), Fat Joe ("Slow Down") and Kendrick Lamar ("Poetic Justice").

During Sunday's awards, Scoop got to see K-Dot perform "Poetic Justice" and confirmed to us that he's back in the studio with Lamar.

"Yes, actually we're working on his new album right now," he said. "I think he's molded his sound to where it needs to be and there's a lot of good surprises for this new album. Be expecting to hear something different, something new."

Seperti diketahui, di album 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (MMLP2)' yang merupakan album studio terbarunya ini, Eminem banyak memasukan unsur musik yang sangat berbeda dari album-album sebelumnya. Meski kembali menggandeng Rihanna untuk bernyanyi di lagu 'Monsters', namun jangan pernah jika komposisinya akan serenyah 'Love The Way You Lie' maupun sekuelnya, 'Love The Way You Lie Part 2'.

Di sini, selain lebih rumit, semuanya pun berada dalam tempo yang cukup tinggi.

Eminem calls Macklemore 'dope'

The 'Same Love' rapper responded by saying it was 'super fresh' to receive the compliment


Eminem has called fellow hip-hop star Macklemore "dope".

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Eminem sings the praises of the 'Same Love' artist, calling him a "really good songwriter". Eminem commented: "I've heard Macklemore's whole album... he's really dope. Macklemore is, yeah, he's dope." He added: "I think there's very technical shit that he does. He's a really good songwriter, too. Conceptually, the shit he does is pretty fuckin' incredible."

Rolling Stone reached out to Macklemore for a response. "What meant the most to me out of all that shit, is what he said about the technical stuff, and the songwriting," he said. "Because I think a lot of people do, for whatever reason, think that there's not a technical skill set to what I bring to the records. And to have Em validate that – I mean, that's like the technician of technical rap. So that was super fresh to me. And obviously he's Em, he's one of the best rappers ever."

Eminem recently previewed the video for 'Rap God', taken from his new album 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2'. The controversial track will be accompanied by a video which sees Eminem channeling '80s TV character Max Headroom, as you can see in the 26-second preview below. The 'Rap God' video is directed by Rich Lee, who directed Eminem's 'Not Afraid' and 'Lighters' videos and was shot at the Russell Industrial Centre in Detroit.
'Rap God' is third track from 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' to get a video after 'Berzerk' and 'Survival'. Fans will not have to wait long for the fourth, however, with Rihanna sharing an image from the set of their video for Number One single 'The Monster' earlier this week via her Facebook page. Eminem Akui Malas Selesaikan Album Barunya

Biasanya seorang penyanyi bakal membangga-banggakan album barunya. Namun tidak bagi Eminem, ia justru mengaku malas menyelesaikan album MARSHALL MATHERS LP 2.
Seperti yang diberitakan di Situs NME, Eminem mengaku lebih tertarik untuk mengerjakan proyeknya yang lain. Itulah yang menyebabkan album ini rampung dalam waktu yang lama.

"Begitu menyelesaikan album RECOVERY, aku mulai mengerjakan proyek lain untuk label Shady Records. Aku mengerjakan sesuatu dengan untuk album YelaWolf dan Slaughterhouse. Aku juga berkolaborasi dengan Royce tha '59, yakni Bad Meets Evil. Di sela-sela itulah aku mengerjakan album ini (MARSHALL MATHERS LP 2)," jelas Eminem.

"Itulah alasannya, aku malas. Itu yang membuat album ini sangat lama pengerjaannya. Sekarang album ini selesai, aku akhirnya bisa mandi," ujarnya sambil bercanda.

Album RECOVERY sendiri dirilis pada tahun 2010 silam. Ini berarti Eminem butuh tiga tahun untuk menyelesaikan album MARSHALL MATHERS LP 2.

Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP 2' Scores Second-Biggest Debut of Year

Eminem's new album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with the second-largest sales week of the year.

The set, which was released on Tuesday, Nov. 5, sold a bigger-than-expected 792,000 copies in the week ending Nov. 10, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last week, industry sources had forecast the set to bow with around 750,000.

The rest of the new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Justin Timberlake continues to reign with the year's biggest week, when "The 20/20 Experience" bowed at No. 1 with 968,000 back in March. The year's second-largest week had been the arrival of Drake's "Nothing Was the Same," which it debuted with 658,000.

"The Marshall Mathers LP 2" ("MMLP2") also logs the sixth-biggest sales week of the past five years. Since November of 2008, the only larger weeks were earned by Taylor Swift's "Red" (2012, 1.2 million its debut), Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" (2011, 1.1 million debut), Swift's "Speak Now" (2010, 1 million debut), Timberlake, and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" (2011, 964,000 debut).

"MMLP2" marks Eminem's seventh No. 1 album -- all consecutive, and all debuts at No. 1. His only album to miss the top slot was his first release, 1999's "The Slim Shady LP." It debuted and peaked at No. 2.

Impressively, "MMLP2" posts a larger debut than Eminem's last album, 2010's "Recovery," which started with 741,000. Both albums bowed bigger than his previous set, 2009's "Relapse," which entered with 608,000.

Eminem Raih Rekor di MTV Europe Music Awards

Eminem membawa pulang dua penghargaan di MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) yang berlangsung di Amsterdam, Belanda, Minggu 10 November 2013, waktu setempat. Hal ini membuat Eminem menjadi artis dengan penghargaan MTV EMA terbanyak sepanjang sejarah.

Sang rapper memenangkan kategori The Best Hip Hop Prizedan mendapat penghargaan The Global Icon Trophy untuk kesuksesannya dalam satu dekade terakhir. Sampai saat ini, Eminem telah mengoleksi 15 piala MTV EMA. Belum ada yang menyamai rekornya.

Sementara Justin Timberlake serta duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis awalnya memimpin nominasi dalam ajang ini, sayangnya Justin Timberlake harus pulang dengan tangan kosong.

Penyanyi Miley Cyrus mencuri perhatian dengan penampilannya selama acara berlangsung, ia juga memenangkan Best Video Award untuk video bertajuk "Wrecking Ball".

Tidak hanya Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry juga mendulang award untuk kategori "Best Female", dan artis yang tidak pernah absen Justin Bieber meraih penghargaan untuk "Best Male" selama dua tahun berturut-turut.
